Black Puttu Rice

Black Puttu Rice(Kavuni Arisi) or Karuppu puttarisi


               Black puttu rice/ Karuppu puttarisi is a sticky rice. This rice is popoular in asian cusines and also popular in chettinad cusines and in burma. It is an well known rice for south indian recipe. I have came to know this recipe from from my school friend. She used to bring all burma foods like atho ,moina , sticky rice etc. I'm very addictive to her lunch box to taste and finish her box. It is an healthy rice and give's more strength for our body .This sticky rice is sweet and delicious treat for sugar lovers.

Ingredients:
  • Black Puttu Rice - 1 cup
  • Water - 3 cup
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Grated cocunut - 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 pinch
  • Salt - 1 pinch
Method:
  • Wash the rice with water.
  • In a pressure cook add rice, water and salt together and cook for 15 mins.
  • Add the sugar,cardamom powder and grated cocunut and mix well.
  • Serve it hot or cold.
